Our Montreal Digital marketing team has put together a list of valuable marketing tips that will not only keep you keep you busy during this quiet time but will improve your Web presence and social media properties and allow you to rebound faster on the other side of this work stoppage.
How to Make the Most of this Downtime
Social Media Announcements
The quickest way to reach your audience is via social media. Make a post and let everyone know exactly what your business is doing. Include working hours, remote work, and any changes to your service and the easiest way to communicate with you and your team. During a time when people have less physical access to your business, you can stay connected on social media and share positive messages.
Post Notices on Your Website
Consider adding a popup to attract website visitors’ attention or add a note on the homepage that’s easily visible. Include helpful information about what your business is currently doing. Remember to update your hours, contact info, location, availability, etc.
Take This Time to Update Your Website
Since our government has paused business activity for the next few weeks for the sake of our country’s health, why not take this opportunity to make the revisions to your Web presence that you have been putting aside for the past few months.
Create New Content
In Google’s eyes, content is king. Our Montreal SEO team are big advocates of fresh new content that prospects or clients would find valuable and informative. Consider writing some FAQs that would be of value for Google’s voice search. Create a Case Study demonstrating how you helped a client solve a unique situation. By creating new content, it may help increase your search ranking results, so it will pay off in the longer term.
Proactively Work on your Online Reputation
People have plenty of time on their hands over the next few weeks. Take this opportunity to contact clients and ask for reviews and testimonials in Google My Business, Facebook or LinkedIn. Reviews are important credibility boosters and these user-generated content pieces can be shared on your social media channels in the future.
Create a New Social Media Channel
You have been meaning to create that new social media channel and there is no time like the present. Read a few articles about getting started and go for it. Research some of your competitors for ideas about what to post. Set up your profile with all the relevant info about your business and come up with a plan of the type of info to post and then write a few posts, choose your visuals and then just start. You will learn along the way. If you do not have the time, our WSI marketing team can help you with your social media on an ongoing basis.
Update Your Online Listings
Google My Business, Yelp, Bing Local, etc. These are often the first things people see when searching for your business. Make sure they are updated with your hours and service info.
Send an Email
Yes, we all received numerous emails from businesses about COVID-19 but it’s still important for your business to reach out. Customers (especially those with current purchases, appointments, reservations) should know what’s going and what to expect from you.

WSI Montreal is pleased to announce the launch of a bold new responsive website for Phoenix Wrappers, a leading manufacturer of stretch wrappers and stretch wrapping equipment based in Laval, Quebec. For over 25 years, Phoenix has devoted all of their resources towards continually improving pallet wrapping machines and stretch packaging equipment to ensure the safe arrival of their customer’s products and pallet loads.
An easy to navigate and modern website
Phoenix came to us with an ambitious project. Our challenge for this website was to find a way to structure and effectively organize Phoenix’s extensive catalogue of machinery which includes highly detailed product spec sheets and videos for many automatic and semi-automatic stretch wrappers for more than a half a dozen industries.
Our team began by carefully structuring the site map to organize of all of the sections and pages that would make up the site in a way that would facilitate navigation for the end user.
We designed a dedicated product page for each machine which includes detailed product information and specifications as well as photos, video and downloads. It was important that the relevant products be linked to one another. This was achieved by incorporating two feeds onto each page; one for related videos and a second for related products. For each, scrollable thumbnails appear making it easy to navigate to the related content.
The end result is a clean website that is well organized making it easy to navigate despite the volume of content.
Ongoing support and paid search advertising
Built on the WordPress CMS platform, our client will be able to edit their site themselves but we’ll always be there to help them with any issues that may arise by providing ongoing WordPress support. After the Phoenix website was launched, our team provided an extensive training on how to navigate the backend of their website and how to make any necessary changes.
WSI will continue to help Phoenix grow its business with paid search advertising, a strategy that allows you to target people who are searching for your products or services. Paid search give you more control over who finds your page paid by specifically targeting your ideal buyer personas.

WSI Montreal is pleased to announce the launch of a website redesign for The Oily Story, a website that promotes whole life wellness that all begins with essential oils.
We centered our efforts on not only enhancing the visual appeal of this website, but also improving its functionality by reorganizing the content on the homepage as well as the main navigation.
The use of carefully chosen graphics throughout the homepage helps to establish The Oily Story’s message. Our team started by selecting a new banner image that would set the stage for the entire site. We chose an image that truly represents The Oily Story’s core values as well as their clientele. The young, healthy and happy family that greets you on the homepage completely encompasses The Oily Story’s vision which was to create a space where people could get whole life wellness by learning about healthy living through essential oils.
The initial version of The Oily Story’s website made it difficult for the user to fully understand the company’s objective. On the redesigned homepage, WSI integrated new visuals, improved the messaging, added specific calls to actions and restructured the navigation which dramatically helped to eliminate any confusion that the user may have been struggling with.
We would like to thank everyone at The Oily Story for giving us the opportunity to work with them on redesigning their website. We were thrilled to have received the following review and are so very thankful:
“WSI did a complete re-design of our website and they made our website BEAUTIFUL, they made it CONVERT, they made it a site people want to be reading! We are so proud of how it turned out and I am happy to recommend WSI to anyone I know! If you’re an entrepreneur and need a website that promotes who you are, you need to connect with Laurie, Chris, their team. Not only do they go through every aspect of your business to make sure that you’re leveraging all of what you have but they make the entire process EASY! Our experience with them has been nothing short of – in a word – EXCELLENT.”

The online team at WSI Montreal is thrilled to announce the launch of a stunning new website for Tower Arctic, a company with over 72 years of experience in Arctic construction.
WSI has proudly worked with a number of clients in the Arctic regions of Nunavut and Nunavik and northern Cree communities of Quebec, which has allowed us to gain a good understanding of the challenges of those regions and the extraordinary landscape of the north.
Tower Arctic specializes in heavy civil and building construction projects in Canada’s Arctic region of Nunavut. They are recognized as having exceptionally specialized expertise working with the environmental challenges of the Arctic such as permafrost, extreme low temperature and high winds.
Our client recognized the importance of establishing an online presence in order to increase visibility for their company and the services that they offer and to help them recruit new employees.
Tower Arctic’s new website not only showcases the outstanding beauty of the Arctic landscape but it also illustrates the huge scale of their construction and civil works projects.
It was important that Tower Arctic’s new website clearly detail the highly specialized services that they offer. Namely: general contracting, water and sanitary distribution services and marine construction.
These three main areas of focus are displayed prominently on the homepage within eye-catching call out boxes that includes and image, icon, brief description and a ‘learn more’ call-to-action that leads to a separate page dedicated to each service.
Natural Beauty of the Arctic
Our client provided us with images of their equipment, crews and projects all set against the absolutely breathtaking backdrop of the Arctic. We displayed these striking images prominently in the header of each page. Not only do they enhance the site’s overall visual appeal, they give visitors to the site a clear understanding of the breadth of the work that is carried out by Tower Arctic and the amount of heavy equipment that they own.
One of Tower Arctic’s challenges prior to having a website was effectively recruiting new employees. The addition of an employment page solved this problem. As an easy to access item in the site’s main navigation, the employment page lists the typical employment opportunities that they offer and has an easy to use form than an applicant can simply fill out, attach a CV and then submit.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Tower Arctic for the trust that they placed in our firm. This was an exciting project to work on and we hope that they are as thrilled with the outcome as we are.

The team at WSI Montreal is proud to announce the launch of a newly redesigned website for Pneus Gordons a Montreal based mechanic and tire shop that has been in operation from the same location for over 60 years.
Pneus Gordons has been a client for many years but it was time to give the site a fresh new look and some enhanced functionality so it can continue to provide the best possible service to its customers.
We would like to thank Gordons for giving us the opportunity to work with them again. We are very grateful for the continued trust that they have placed in our firm.
New Online Tire and Wheel Catalogues
Tire prices have become very competitive over the years and now consumers are shopping around and comparing prices online. Gordons now offers an online tire catalogue for visitors to compare their prices vs. competitor’s sites which will show them that Gordons offers extremely competitive rates for new tires. They also offer a full selection of specialized wheels to add a customized look to the vehicle.
Since this project was a redesign we had a lot of existing content to work with but we wanted to dive in a little deeper so we wrote additional quality content to further explain the additional car maintenance services that are offered at Gordons such as steering and suspension, tune ups and oil changes. Not only is this content useful and informative for visitors to the site, it is also critical in helping Gordons rank in Google. We used SEO best practices when writing this new content and optimized the text to ensure that we grab Google’s attention.
Ongoing SEO, Local Optimization and Support
Now that the site is live we will provide Gordons with ongoing support and WordPress system updates that are needed to maintain the integrity of the site and to minimize the possibility of any security risks.
We will also continue to help them to grow their business by providing ongoing SEO and local SEO. Writing good content is a good start but it’s just one piece of the SEO puzzle. Our ongoing services will help Gordons to continue to rank high both globally and locally.
